General Business Considerations
We know you want to get to the exciting part of setting everything up and making your subscription operations run like a machine. But before we can get to that we’ve got to get through the General Business Considerations and set up things like default language, postal code range, Google Analytics Integration and so on.
We’ve prepared a list for you with detailed explanations. Let’s go!
1. In which languages will your checkout and customer login page be displayed?
Allowed language is a list of languages that can be used to set up the email templates and the language that is displayed in your Checkout page and your customer login page.
Setup Instructions: Login to your circuly operations backend > Go to Settings > Company Settings > LOCALE > Allowed languages > Select your choice of languages from the dropdown.
2. What is your default language?
The default language is the language used by the circuly operations backend to send any form of communication to your customer such as emails, invoices etc in case the preferred language of the customer is missing or if an email template for the preferred language is not set up.
Example: You have three language options available on your webshop; English, German, and Dutch. A prospect lands on your webshop and proceeds to the checkout page in Dutch. The preferred language of this customer is saved as Dutch in the circuly operations backend. If you have email templates set up in Dutch then the circuly operations backend will use Dutch as the language of communication with your customer. If you do not have email templates set up in Dutch then the circuly operations backend will use the default language and the email templates set up in the default language.
As you can see setting up a default language is important to avoid any communication gaps and operation hassles.
Setup Instructions: Login to your circuly operations backend > Go to Settings > Company Settings > LOCALE > Default Language > Select a language as your default language from the list of available language options.
3. In which country do you want to launch?
Before launching your new rental webshop, also think about the country you would like to go live in. Your go-live country is relevant for tax regulation, currency, language, shipping cost calculation and postal code.
Setup Instructions: Login to your circuly operations backend > Go to Settings > Company Settings > COMPANY DATA > Country > Select your go-live country name from the dropdown menu.
4. Where do you want to integrate your rental option?
Relevant for businesses that do not have a rental shop yet.*
Integration of Rental Options means where you would like your rental option to be set up, that is, where is its digital location.
Typically there are three options:
- A separate, individual webshop that is not on the same website as your buying model.
- As a webpage on your main website, but still separated from the buying model. The rental model will have its own webpage on the main website.
- On your buying page, where you have two or more options. For example a button for buying and a button for subscribing/renting.
You can also decide on a combination of one or more options.
5. Do you have shipping costs and will they be displayed on the checkout page?
You can have different logic for the shipping cost (for example free shipping for orders above €45) and can also decide to show/hide displaying the shipping costs on the checkout page to your customer.
Setup Instructions: Login to your circuly operations backend > Go to Settings > Checkout > DELIVERY > and do the following:
- Enable the switch for Show shipping methods to show the delivery options on the checkout page.
- Insert a cart value in the Free Shipping Cart value input field to define the minimum amount needed to qualify an order for free shipping.
6. In which currency will you accept payments?
Decide upon the currency you want to offer your product in. If you decide to sell in multiple countries, you need a separate shop system for each currency that you want to offer.
Setup Instructions: Login to your circuly operations backend > Go to Settings > Company Settings > LOCALE > Select a currency of your choice from the dropdown
7. Do you want to have credit check and fraud prevention in the checkout?
If you would like to run credit checks on your checkout page to prevent chargebacks and subscription fraud, you can add a credit check integration. Read more about Credit check and fraud prevention.
Setup Instructions: Get in touch with the customer success team if you would like to have the credit check integration from CRIF.
8. Remember to update your privacy policy
A privacy policy is a document contained on a website that explains how a website or organization will collect, store, protect, and utilize personal information provided by its users.
Make sure to include in your privacy policy that you are using circuly - you can find example snippets here. Additionally if in the checkout you are using autofill to fill the address fields, make sure that you mention Google places in your Privacy Policy.
